How to Get a TrabzonKart

Getting a TrabzonKart depends on your card type, where you apply and which documents are current at the time. This guide lays out the steps so you can arrive prepared. Applications and card issuing are handled by the relevant authorities through their own systems; trabzonkart.com.tr is an independent information site.

Where do you get a TrabzonKart?

Applications and card services for the Trabzon transport card are handled at the TULAŞ Application & Card Centre. The centre we can currently verify is in Ortahisar, in the Pazarkapı area, next to Hanife Hatun Mosque.

Opening hours are not published as a regular table, so before you go, call Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality's Alo 153 line to check today's hours and whether your transaction can be done there. For the location, directions and sources, see the card centres page.

Students: see the Trabzon student card guide for documents, 2026 student fares, campus distribution and the visa.

In short

Choose your card type, get your documents together, check which card centre is nearest, and bring photo ID with you. Discounted and student cards usually require current proof of entitlement.

1. Decide which card you need

Standard (full fare), student, age-related discount and entitlement-based cards are all issued on different terms. Applying for the wrong one costs you a trip, so read the summary on the card types page first.

  • Standard card: the basic card for general passengers.
  • Student card: current proof of enrolment or a student ID is required.
  • Discounted and free cards: proof of the entitlement defined in the regulations, plus identity verification.

2. Get your documents ready in advance

What is asked for varies by card type. You are typically asked for:

  1. Identity: a Turkish ID card or other valid identity document.
  2. Photograph: some personalised cards require a biometric photo.
  3. Proof of entitlement: current evidence such as an enrolment certificate, or age, disability or staff documentation.
  4. Application fee: a card issuing or deposit charge may apply, depending on where you apply.

For a detailed checklist, see the required documents page.

3. Visit a card centre, or use the current channel

Most transactions are still completed in person at a card centre. Opening hours, queues and temporary closures change, so check the card centres list before you set off.

  • Waiting times are longer at peak hours, in the morning and early evening.
  • Centres are busiest at the start of each academic term.
  • If online or appointment channels are available, follow the official announcements — applications are not taken through this site.

4. Using your card for the first time

  1. Check the details printed on the card, including your name.
  2. On your first journey, listen and look for the validator's confirmation.
  3. Top up at a kiosk or another authorised channel.
  4. If you lose the card, you will need to go to a card centre to cancel and replace it.
